The Trainer Behind Lead & Leash
I am a CATCH-certified dog trainer providing one-to-one training for urban dogs and their owners in Jersey City, Hoboken, Bayonne and Weehawken. My approach is practical and structured, with an emphasis on clearer communication, stronger handling and routines that owners can maintain in everyday life.
Before moving into professional dog training, I spent more than 30 years working in operational safety, emergency response, security and risk management. That background informs a careful approach to assessment, environmental risk and decision-making under pressure.
Training is available in English and Spanish.
Assessment-led training
Effective training begins with understanding the dog, the owner and the environment. I assess routines, handling, thresholds and the circumstances in which behaviour occurs before recommending a training route. Training is clear, consistent and tailored to the individual dog; it is not based on fear, pain or intimidation.
Training and Credentials
I am certified through CATCH Canine Trainers Academy and hold Cat and Dog First Aid and CPR certification through ProPetHero. One-to-one training is available in English and Spanish.
